Contact lenses
Contact lenses, fitted and followed up
A contact lens exam is more than an eye exam: the doctor also measures your eye and tries trial lenses on you. Your prescription is yours, and once the fitting is finished you can order lenses from any seller.

What happens at the visit
The fitting can take more than one visit. Ask the office what to expect for your eyes.
- 01
Step 1: A contact lens exam
We start with an eye exam, and ask what you need lenses for.
- 02
Step 2: Measuring your eye
The doctor measures the curve and size of your eye so the lens sits well.
- 03
Step 3: Trial lenses
You try a pair, and we check the fit and how they feel.
- 04
Step 4: Follow-up
A short visit after a week or two makes sure the lenses suit you before you buy a supply.
How it is billed
A contact lens fitting is billed apart from the eye exam. The office tells you each fee before you start.
The eye exam
Billed to your vision plan, as any routine exam is.
The fitting
Some vision plans cover part of it and some do not. We check yours before the visit when we can.
Your lenses
Order them from us or from any seller you like, with the prescription we give you.
Questions we hear
Can I order my lenses somewhere else?
Yes. Once your fitting is finished, we give you your prescription, and you can order from any seller.
Can I wear contact lenses if I have astigmatism or need reading glasses?
Often, yes. Lenses come for many kinds of eyes, and the doctor tells you which suit yours.
Can I try lenses before I buy?
Yes. You try trial lenses at the fitting, and you come back for a follow-up before you buy a supply.
